US Court Throws the Book at the Baby Boiler

The American man who let his 22-month-old son die in a boiling hot car so he could collect life insurance has been charged with “malice murder” in a Georgia court.

A Cobb County grand jury has indicted Justin Ross Harris (33) on multiple charges including felony murder and cruelty to children.

Forgot About His Son

Harris has been in prison since the day his baby son, Cooper, died. On his arrest Harris told police Harris has told police he was supposed to drive his son to day care the morning of June 18, 2014 but drove to work without realizing that the child was strapped into a car seat in the back.

A police detective testified at a hearing in July that Harris was sitting in his office exchanging nude photos with several women the day his son died.

Life Insurance

Prosecuting attorneys have pointed out that Harris had taken out two life insurance policies on his son’s life. In jail Harris told his wife she should cash in the policies.
